Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 October 2026 · Effective: 1 October 2026

In short: Hamd shows no ads, does not sell your data and does not track you. You can use it without an account. Your location is used to calculate prayer times and the qibla; no location history is kept. When you sign in, your worship records are stored so they sync across your devices, and they are deleted with your account whenever you choose.

This policy explains what data is processed when you use the app. By using the app you confirm that you have read it.

1. Data we process

Most of the app works without an account. The data below is processed only when you use the corresponding feature.

What we do not process: Hamd does not access your contacts, photos, messages or browsing history. It collects no advertising identifier, shares no data with ad networks, and performs no profiling or behavioural advertising. We do not sell your personal data.

2. Purposes and legal bases

3. Location

Location permission is optional; without it you can still select your city manually and use prayer times. When you do grant it:

You can revoke location permission at any time: on iOS via Settings → Hamd → Location, on Android via Settings → Apps → Hamd → Permissions.

4. Notifications

Prayer time notifications are scheduled locally on your device. If you decline the notification permission the rest of the app keeps working, and you can turn it on or off later in device settings.

5. Community content

When you create a prayer request, a shared dhikr or a khatm organisation, the text you write along with your display name and avatar is visible to the members of that group. In open groups this content can be seen by all users of the app. Do not post private information you would not want shared. You can delete content you created from within the app, and we may remove content that breaks the rules.

6. Subscriptions and payment

Payments are taken directly by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see or store your card details. A subscription verification service is used so the app can recognise your subscription status; it receives the purchase information from the store and an anonymous user identifier.

7. Third-party services

The app uses external services for the functions below. Only the data required for the relevant function is sent to them, and each is governed by its own privacy policy. You can request the current list of providers by email.

8. International transfers

The servers of the services above may sit outside your country. The worship records tied to your account are hosted on servers in the European Union. Transfers take place under the standard contractual clauses and data processing terms of the relevant providers.

9. Retention

10. Deleting your account and data

You can close your account with the Delete account option on the profile screen. Deletion removes your profile details and the worship records tied to your account and cannot be undone. You can also send the same request to turediogluf@gmail.com — requests are handled within 30 days at the latest. Your subscription must be cancelled separately through the store; deleting your account does not end it.

11. Your rights

Under the GDPR and KVKK Art. 11 you have the right to know whether your personal data is being processed, to access it, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict processing, to receive a portable copy, to object to processing and to withdraw consent you have given. Send requests to turediogluf@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — in Türkiye, the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK).

12. Children's privacy

Hamd's content is suitable for all ages, but to create an account or subscribe you must have reached the age of consent for data processing in your country (13 in Türkiye and many others, 16 in some EU member states) or have parental permission. We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age, and we delete such data if we become aware of it.

13. Security

Data is encrypted in transit with TLS. Database access is rule-based: each user can only write to their own records. Even so, no transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure — please use a strong, unique password for your account.

14. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. For significant changes we will notify you in the app and update the "last updated" date on this page. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
